HexRomette is a race game for two or three players. A stone may move to any adjacent empty square in any of the six directions. It may also jump over a single stone or over a continuous line of stones of any colour. A jumping sequence may continue as long as further jumps are available, though the player may also choose to stop early.
A player wins when his goal zone on the opposite side of the board is filled with stones of any colour. This eliminates the tactic of blocking the goal. There is also a small board variant that provides an easier game. The predecessor of HexRomette is Romette, a game from 1891.
The small board version. With its utterly simple rules and the modest calculation needed to trace a jumping path for the stone, HexRomette makes an ideal parlour game.

• You can download my free HexRomette program here (updated 2026-04-03), but you must own the software Zillions
of Games to be able to run it (I recommend the download version).
